PRIME TENANTS: The 76,000m²m Cradlestone Mall opened its doors on the West Rand on Wednesday after a two-year construction period.
The R1.3bn development, jointly owned by Sasol Pension Fund, developer Retail Africa and Pivotal Property Fund, is the largest shopping centre to be built in the greater Johannesburg area since the 85,000m² Greenstone Mall opened in April 2007, another Sasol Pension Fund development.
Fund investment manager Andries Schaap said Cradlestone’s close to 200 stores were 94% let. Anchor tenants include Woolworths, Pick n Pay, Checkers, Game with FoodCo, Dion Wired and the Edcon Group.
Food Lover’s Market and Dis-Chem would open outlets early 2014.
